R/N build? Comments?
So I'm working on a build that I'm not sure is entirely original. This post is firstly to ask if it's original or at least not as widely used, and secondly to hear some critiques on it.
Alright, so the build would use these skills:
-Barrage
-Order of Pain
-Dual Shot
-Power Shot
-Mark of Pain
-Favorable Winds
-?
-Res sig
I'm not really sure on the second to last skill. (Throw Dirt, maybe?)
Marksmanship would be max, Blood Magic and Curses would be between 8-10. And expertise would be as high as possible to minimize the energy cost of the ranger skills to maximize use of the necro skills.
I was thinking of using a horn bow for the additional 10% armor penetration, but the slow refire rate is a real pain. A flatbow might work out alright. A vampiric bow string would add on to the damage, but I'm hesitant to use one. I can't think of any other parts of the build I had thought up right now, so I open it up to critiques and comments. Please, no flaming... Thanks!

Not too good... since you're putting Mark of Pain on them, each time they recieve physical damage they'll also recieve some shadow damage so what you might want to do is maximize you're physical damage output on them. To do this a skill like Tiger Fury could do wonders, and might want to replace Barrage with Quick Shot taking full advantage of Favorable Winds. Also make sure to have a Short Bow equipped.
Also, replace power shot with an interrupting attack like Savage shot or something. Especially when trying to take out enemy monk or mesmer, it's good to be able to distrupt a few of their skills.

Well it's largely supposed to be a nuking build, mainly for PvE. I'm not too big on PvP. And yeah you're right about the short bow bit... I was thinking of throwing an interrupt in that 7th spot. Tiger's Fury would be good. I figured Barrage would be nice with MoP and OoP since with barrage + OoP you're doing a good chunk of dmg (about +30 dmg) and then you're doing even more damage to those around the target because of MoP (around an additional 30 damage, let's say).

Ok so I went forward with the build anyway and let me tell you... it's amazing. I got a run to Drok's and once I got a couple skills I went back and am currently at the Frost Gate. I also changed around some skills. I'm currently using Power Shot, Dual Shot, Read the Wind, Lightning Reflexes, Shadow of Fear, Mark of Pain, Barbs, Res Sig.
I also changed the build so that Blood Magic is no longer a used attribute.
Right now I'm using an Ithas bow, but I hope to be getting a half moon soon with a vampiric mod to add to the damage even more.
I'm eventually going to replace either Power Shot, Shadow of Fear, or Barbs with Barrage, even though I like Barbs for when an enemy group won't quite 'group'.
Any other comments on this? Please?

You'd still get more dps out of QS+TF/Other AIS+Mark of Pain than from barrage, unless you took QZ/SQ to use two Marks of Pain. Barrage is pretty worthless without JI if you ask me.
As for spamming orders.. seems a little taxing on the hp to me, and I don't see a self heal.

Well like I said, I got rid of Blood Magic, which is what powers OoP, so I'm not spamming order anymore.
And uhh.. JI? AIS?

JI (judge's insight) is an awesome monk enchantment that makes your attacks pierce armor.
AIS is a typo, he meant to say IAS, which is increased attack speed.
Mark of pain os only good for mobs, becuase it does not affect the taget, only other enemies nearby.
I'd get rid of barrage in favor ofsomething else, honsestly, it's a decent build, but what you need to do is throw mop on someone the team isn't attacking, and then attack as quickly as you can, low damage low schmamage. Barrage does NOT do that, but dual shot will be verrry nice.
Maybe marksman's wager to keep up energy, and then you can throw around dual and penetrating.

MoP doesn't need to damage the main person I'm attacking because I'm attack him. Thanks for the letter explanations.
I'll try the mentioned combos when I get there. The character is a R/N, so I can't use JI.
I really want to try barrage just because I think it would make a nice combo with MoP. I can spam it pretty well, too. Thanks for the ideas guys!
